The scapular pull-up focuses on developing scapular strength and stability, engaging the muscles around the shoulder blades. It helps improve posture and increase back strength, making it a foundational movement for enhancing pulling exercises.
How to do it
- Start hanging from a pull-up bar with arms fully extended and shoulders relaxed.
- Engage the scapula by pulling shoulder blades down and together, without bending the arms.
- Hold the retracted position briefly while maintaining a stable core.
- Slowly return to the starting position with control.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps.
