The scapular pull-up focuses on developing scapular strength and stability, engaging the muscles around the shoulder blades. It helps improve posture and increase back strength, making it a foundational movement for enhancing pulling exercises.

How to do it

  1. Start hanging from a pull-up bar with arms fully extended and shoulders relaxed.
  2. Engage the scapula by pulling shoulder blades down and together, without bending the arms.
  3. Hold the retracted position briefly while maintaining a stable core.
  4. Slowly return to the starting position with control.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of reps.
