How to do it
- Start by standing with feet hip-width apart. Step one foot back about four feet, turning it about 45 degrees outward.
- Square your hips to face forward as you inhale strongly, extending your spine upwards.
- Exhale and hinge at the hips to bend forward, placing your opposite hand on the floor or a block beside your front foot.
- Twist your torso towards your forward leg, reaching the other hand up towards the ceiling, keeping your gaze upwards.
- Hold the pose while breathing deeply, focusing on lengthening the spine with each inhale and deepening the twist with each exhale.
