The Barbell Standing Calf Raise targets the calf muscles by extending the ankles while standing. It improves lower leg strength and helps develop a more muscular appearance to the calves, enhancing stability and balance.
How to do it
- Position yourself under the barbell on a squat rack and lift it onto your upper back.
- Stand with your feet hip-width apart on a stable platform or weight plate.
- Slowly lift your heels off the ground to rise onto your toes, squeezing your calves.
- Hold the top position briefly, then lower back down.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
