The bent-over row with a weight plate targets the upper back and shoulders. It strengthens the muscles involved in scapular retraction and shoulder stabilization, improving posture and upper body strength.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent.
  2. Hinge at the hips to bring your torso forward, keeping the back flat.
  3. Hold a weight plate with both hands, arms extended downward.
  4. Pull the weight plate towards your abdomen by bending your elbows.
  5. Lower the plate slowly back to the starting position.
