The bent-over row with a weight plate targets the upper back and shoulders. It strengthens the muscles involved in scapular retraction and shoulder stabilization, improving posture and upper body strength.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent.
- Hinge at the hips to bring your torso forward, keeping the back flat.
- Hold a weight plate with both hands, arms extended downward.
- Pull the weight plate towards your abdomen by bending your elbows.
- Lower the plate slowly back to the starting position.
