The stick side bend stretch is a flexibility exercise targeting the lateral muscles of the torso. It helps improve spinal mobility and release tension in the obliques. Holding a stick overhead, the practitioner bends sideways, stretching the side of the body while maintaining balance.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a stick overhead with both hands.
  2. Engage your core and keep your back straight.
  3. Gently bend to one side at the waist, feeling a stretch along the opposite side.
  4. Hold the position briefly, keeping the stick parallel to the floor.
  5. Return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
