Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The stick side bend stretch is a flexibility exercise targeting the lateral muscles of the torso. It helps improve spinal mobility and release tension in the obliques. Holding a stick overhead, the practitioner bends sideways, stretching the side of the body while maintaining balance.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a stick overhead with both hands.
- Engage your core and keep your back straight.
- Gently bend to one side at the waist, feeling a stretch along the opposite side.
- Hold the position briefly, keeping the stick parallel to the floor.
- Return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
