The right hook in boxing is a powerful circular punch aimed at the opponent's side. It is primarily used to generate knockout power and increase striking versatility, engaging both upper body and core muscles for strength and stability.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and right foot slightly back.
- Keep hands in a guard position, elbows close to the body.
- Twist hips and pivot on the right foot as you swing your right arm in a wide arc.
- Aim to connect with the fist perpendicular to the opponent’s side.
- Return to guard position promptly after the punch.
