The standing plate press is an upper body exercise focusing on the chest and shoulders. It helps improve muscle endurance and strength by pressing a weight plate forward, engaging the pectoral muscles and anterior deltoids effectively.

How to do it

  1. Stand upright, feet shoulder-width apart, holding a weight plate at chest level with both hands.
  2. Engage your core and ensure your back stays straight throughout the movement.
  3. Press the plate straight forward until your arms are fully extended.
  4. Pause briefly before returning the plate to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
