The standing plate press is an upper body exercise focusing on the chest and shoulders. It helps improve muscle endurance and strength by pressing a weight plate forward, engaging the pectoral muscles and anterior deltoids effectively.
How to do it
- Stand upright, feet shoulder-width apart, holding a weight plate at chest level with both hands.
- Engage your core and ensure your back stays straight throughout the movement.
- Press the plate straight forward until your arms are fully extended.
- Pause briefly before returning the plate to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
