The standing calf raise on a staircase targets the calf muscles, improving their strength and definition. This exercise is effective for building muscle endurance and stabilizing the ankles and lower legs.

How to do it

  1. Stand on the edge of a step with your heels hanging off.
  2. Keep your legs straight and slowly raise your heels by standing on your toes.
  3. Hold the position briefly to maximize contraction.
  4. Slowly lower your heels back down below the step level.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
