The standing calf raise on a staircase targets the calf muscles, improving their strength and definition. This exercise is effective for building muscle endurance and stabilizing the ankles and lower legs.
How to do it
- Stand on the edge of a step with your heels hanging off.
- Keep your legs straight and slowly raise your heels by standing on your toes.
- Hold the position briefly to maximize contraction.
- Slowly lower your heels back down below the step level.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
