The donkey calf raise is an exercise targeting the calf muscles, particularly the gastrocnemius. It involves standing with your toes on an elevated platform and flexing the calves by raising yourself onto your toes, then lowering back down.

How to do it

  1. Stand on a step with your heels hanging off the edge.
  2. Hold onto a bench for support, with your torso bent forward.
  3. Raise your heels by extending your ankles.
  4. Hold the position at the top for a moment.
  5. Lower your heels back to the starting position.
