The Smith Calf Raise is an exercise targeting the calf muscles, specifically the gastrocnemius and soleus. It involves using a Smith Machine to perform a controlled rise onto the toes, effectively strengthening and building endurance in the calves.

How to do it

  1. Position yourself under the Smith Machine bar, ensuring it rests comfortably across your shoulders.
  2. Place your feet shoulder-width apart on the platform, with heels hanging off the edge.
  3. Lift the bar and rise onto your toes by extending your ankles.
  4. Hold the position momentarily before slowly lowering your heels back below the platform.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
