The Smith Wide Shrug targets the trapezius muscles by elevating the shoulders with a wide grip on a barbell. It helps in building stronger, thicker traps and improving shoulder stability.

How to do it

  1. Stand in a Smith Machine with feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Grip the bar wider than shoulder-width with an overhand grip.
  3. Keep arms straight and elevate shoulders towards ears.
  4. Hold the top position briefly, then lower back to start position.
