The Smith Wide Shrug targets the trapezius muscles by elevating the shoulders with a wide grip on a barbell. It helps in building stronger, thicker traps and improving shoulder stability.
How to do it
- Stand in a Smith Machine with feet shoulder-width apart.
- Grip the bar wider than shoulder-width with an overhand grip.
- Keep arms straight and elevate shoulders towards ears.
- Hold the top position briefly, then lower back to start position.
