The Trap Bar Standing Shrug is an exercise that targets the trapezius muscles. It involves holding a trap bar with arms extended and elevating the shoulders upwards in a shrugging motion. This exercise is effective for building and strengthening the upper trapezius, contributing to improved posture and shoulder stability.

How to do it

  1. Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart inside a trap bar.
  2. Grip the handles firmly and keep your arms fully extended.
  3. Elevate your shoulders upward towards your ears, keeping your arms straight.
  4. Hold the peak contraction briefly, then lower shoulders back to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions while maintaining good posture.
