The Smith Upright Row is an exercise that targets the shoulder muscles, particularly focusing on developing the upper trapezius and deltoids. It is performed using a Smith Machine, which allows for a controlled range of motion, minimizing instability and focusing on muscle engagement.
How to do it
- Stand facing the Smith Machine, gripping the bar with an overhand grip, shoulder-width apart.
- Keep your back straight and chest up as you pull the bar vertically to chest level.
- Keep your elbows higher than your wrists throughout the movement.
