The sitting lateral raise step-out is an exercise targeting the shoulders, particularly the lateral deltoids. It is performed seated, providing stability, while isolating the shoulder muscles for better engagement and reduced lower body involvement.
How to do it
- Sit on a padded stool with your back straight and feet flat on the ground.
- Hold a dumbbell in each hand, arms by your sides.
- Raise your arms laterally until they are parallel to the ground.
- Pause briefly at the top, then slowly lower back to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
