Rowing on a rowing machine is a full-body cardiovascular exercise that primarily strengthens the back and improves endurance. It mimics the motion of rowing a boat, engaging both the upper and lower body muscles.

How to do it

  1. Sit on the rowing machine and secure your feet in the foot pedals.
  2. Grab the handle with both hands, maintaining a relaxed grip.
  3. Push with your legs, then lean back slightly while pulling the handle towards your chest.
  4. Return to the starting position by extending your arms, leaning forward, and bending your knees.
  5. Maintain a smooth, continuous motion and keep your core engaged throughout.
