The push-up plus is a variation of the standard push-up and emphasizes scapular protraction. This movement is beneficial for strengthening the chest and shoulders while engaging the serratus anterior effectively.
How to do it
- Start in a standard push-up position with hands shoulder-width apart.
- Lower your body by bending your elbows until your chest nearly touches the floor.
- Push back up to the starting position.
- At the top, continue extending by pushing your shoulder blades forward.
- Hold briefly, then repeat the movement.
