The push-up plus is a variation of the standard push-up and emphasizes scapular protraction. This movement is beneficial for strengthening the chest and shoulders while engaging the serratus anterior effectively.

How to do it

  1. Start in a standard push-up position with hands shoulder-width apart.
  2. Lower your body by bending your elbows until your chest nearly touches the floor.
  3. Push back up to the starting position.
  4. At the top, continue extending by pushing your shoulder blades forward.
  5. Hold briefly, then repeat the movement.
