The kneeling push-up to child pose is a combination exercise that begins with a modified push-up targeting the upper body and transitions to a stretch targeting the back and hips. It strengthens the chest, shoulders, and triceps while improving flexibility and providing a restorative stretch for the lower back.

How to do it

  1. Start in a kneeling plank position with your hands under your shoulders.
  2. Lower your body towards the ground by bending your elbows, keeping your core engaged.
  3. Push back to the starting position, then sit back onto your heels with arms extended, reaching into child's pose.
  4. Hold the stretch briefly before returning to the kneeling plank position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
