Kneeling Push-Up to Child Pose
Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The kneeling push-up to child pose is a combination exercise that begins with a modified push-up targeting the upper body and transitions to a stretch targeting the back and hips. It strengthens the chest, shoulders, and triceps while improving flexibility and providing a restorative stretch for the lower back.
How to do it
- Start in a kneeling plank position with your hands under your shoulders.
- Lower your body towards the ground by bending your elbows, keeping your core engaged.
- Push back to the starting position, then sit back onto your heels with arms extended, reaching into child's pose.
- Hold the stretch briefly before returning to the kneeling plank position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
