The kettlebell swing with an overhand grip is a dynamic exercise that primarily targets the posterior chain, enhancing power, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. This movement involves swinging a kettlebell from between the legs to shoulder height using a hip hinge motion.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a kettlebell with both hands using an overhand grip.
  2. Hinge at the hips and slightly bend the knees, keeping your back straight and engaging your core.
  3. Drive through your heels and propel the kettlebell upward to shoulder height using the momentum of your hips.
  4. Let the kettlebell swing back down between your legs as you hinge at the hips again.
  5. Continue swinging in a controlled manner for the desired number of reps.
