The kettlebell swing with an overhand grip is a dynamic exercise that primarily targets the posterior chain, enhancing power, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. This movement involves swinging a kettlebell from between the legs to shoulder height using a hip hinge motion.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a kettlebell with both hands using an overhand grip.
- Hinge at the hips and slightly bend the knees, keeping your back straight and engaging your core.
- Drive through your heels and propel the kettlebell upward to shoulder height using the momentum of your hips.
- Let the kettlebell swing back down between your legs as you hinge at the hips again.
- Continue swinging in a controlled manner for the desired number of reps.
