The standing preacher curl is an isolation exercise designed to strengthen the biceps with support from a preacher bench. It emphasizes the peak contraction of the biceps by placing them under tension throughout the movement.
How to do it
- Stand in front of a preacher curl bench, holding a dumbbell in one hand.
- Rest your upper arm on the pad with your elbow slightly bent.
- Curl the dumbbell upward by contracting your biceps, keeping your wrist straight.
- Pause at the top, then slowly lower the weight back to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
