The Dumbbell Standing Hammer Curl is a strength training exercise that targets the arm muscles, particularly enhancing the size and strength of the biceps and brachials. It is performed while standing, keeping the wrists neutral and emphasizing the forearms through the hammer grip position.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hold dumbbells at your sides with a neutral grip.
- Keep your elbows close to your torso and curl the weights up by bending at your elbows.
- Raise the dumbbells until your forearms are vertical and your biceps fully contracted.
- Pause briefly at the top of the movement, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the start.
- Maintain a controlled motion throughout and avoid using momentum.
