The dumbbell push press is a dynamic exercise that combines elements of both a squat and an overhead press. It primarily targets the shoulders while engaging the legs and core for stability and power. This move effectively develops strength and power in the upper body and improves coordination.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding dumbbells at shoulder height, palms facing forward.
  2. Bend knees slightly, lowering into a quarter-squat position.
  3. Drive through heels, extending legs as you press the dumbbells overhead.
  4. Lock out arms at the top, then lower weights back to shoulders with control.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
