The Barbell Larsen Press is a bench press variation aimed at enhancing upper body pressing strength and stability without utilizing leg drive. It focuses on strengthening the chest, shoulders, and triceps, improving control and upper body tension.
How to do it
- Lie flat on a bench and hold a barbell with a shoulder-width grip.
- Extend your arms to lift the barbell off the rack, keeping your feet off the ground.
- Lower the barbell towards your chest with control, maintaining tension in your upper body.
- Press the barbell back to the starting position, fully extending your arms.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions while keeping feet elevated.
