The overhead press is an effective upper body exercise that strengthens the shoulders, arms, and upper back. It enhances shoulder stability and builds muscle endurance, making it an essential component of strength training routines.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding dumbbells at shoulder height.
  2. Engage your core and keep your back straight.
  3. Press the dumbbells upward until your arms are fully extended overhead.
  4. Lower the dumbbells back down to shoulder height with control.
  5. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.
