The dumbbell overhead sit-up targets the core, enhancing strength and stability. By holding a dumbbell overhead, it challenges the abdominals and shoulders, improving balance and control.

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
  2. Hold a dumbbell with both hands above your chest, arms extended.
  3. Engage your core and tighten your abdominals.
  4. Perform a sit-up, keeping the dumbbell overhead, until your torso is upright.
  5. Slowly lower back down to the starting position.
