The dumbbell high curl is an isolation exercise targeting the biceps and involves lifting dumbbells in a curling motion from a lateral position to a higher angle. This exercise helps in developing arm strength and size, particularly focusing on the biceps brachii.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Raise your arms laterally until they are parallel to the floor, palms facing forward.
  3. Curl the dumbbells towards your shoulders, keeping the elbows stationary.
  4. Pause at the top for a brief moment, squeezing the biceps.
  5. Lower the dumbbells back to the lateral position with control.
