The dumbbell high curl is an isolation exercise targeting the biceps and involves lifting dumbbells in a curling motion from a lateral position to a higher angle. This exercise helps in developing arm strength and size, particularly focusing on the biceps brachii.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
- Raise your arms laterally until they are parallel to the floor, palms facing forward.
- Curl the dumbbells towards your shoulders, keeping the elbows stationary.
- Pause at the top for a brief moment, squeezing the biceps.
- Lower the dumbbells back to the lateral position with control.
