The dumbbell curtsy lunge is a dynamic exercise targeting the lower body while improving balance and stability. It involves stepping one leg behind the other at an angle, resembling a curtsy. This movement engages the glutes and quadriceps effectively, making it great for toning and strengthening the legs and improving functional fitness.

How to do it

  1. Stand upright with feet hip-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand by your sides.
  2. Step your left leg diagonally behind your right leg, bending both knees into a lunge position.
  3. Lower your hips until your right thigh is parallel to the ground, keeping your torso upright.
  4. Push through your right heel to return to standing, bringing your feet back to hip-width.
  5. Switch sides and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
