The Dumbbell Close-Grip Press is a compound exercise targeting the chest and triceps. By using a close grip with the dumbbells, it emphasizes the triceps while also engaging the chest and shoulders for overall upper body strength development.

How to do it

  1. Lie back on a bench with feet planted on the ground.
  2. Hold a dumbbell in each hand at chest level with palms facing each other.
  3. Press the dumbbells upward, fully extending the arms while keeping them close together.
  4. Pause briefly at the top, then lower back to the starting position.
