The crunch is a core exercise targeting the abdominal muscles. It strengthens and tones the rectus abdominis and aids in developing core stability, improving overall posture and athletic performance.
How to do it
- Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
- Place your hands behind your head, keeping elbows open wide.
- Engage your core and lift your shoulders off the ground, curling your upper body towards your knees.
- Hold briefly at the top, then lower your shoulders back down with control.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
