The crunch with arms straight is an abdominal exercise focusing on strengthening the rectus abdominis. By extending the arms overhead, it adds a challenge to the core stability, increasing the intensity on the abdominal muscles compared to traditional crunches.

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
  2. Extend your arms straight above your head, keeping them close to your ears.
  3. Engage your core muscles and lift your upper back off the floor, aiming to bring your head and shoulders towards the knees.
  4. Hold the top position briefly before slowly lowering back to the starting position.
  5. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.
