The crunch with arms straight is an abdominal exercise focusing on strengthening the rectus abdominis. By extending the arms overhead, it adds a challenge to the core stability, increasing the intensity on the abdominal muscles compared to traditional crunches.
How to do it
- Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
- Extend your arms straight above your head, keeping them close to your ears.
- Engage your core muscles and lift your upper back off the floor, aiming to bring your head and shoulders towards the knees.
- Hold the top position briefly before slowly lowering back to the starting position.
- Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.
