The Cobra Yoga Pose is a gentle backbend that introduces flexibility to the spine and stretches the chest and shoulders. It is often used to improve posture and relieve tension in the back and neck while strengthening the core.

How to do it

  1. Lie face down on the mat, legs extended with tops of the feet flat.
  2. Place hands under shoulders, elbows close to body.
  3. Inhale and press through hands to lift chest, keeping pelvis on the floor.
  4. Engage core and hold for a few breaths, then lower gently.
