The straight-arm cable pushdown primarily targets the latissimus dorsi. It is an isolation exercise designed to enhance back width, improve posture, and increase upper body strength without engaging the arms heavily.

How to do it

  1. Stand facing a cable machine with a straight bar attachment at shoulder height.
  2. Grip the bar with palms facing down, and keep your arms straight and slightly bent.
