The cable lateral pulldown with a V bar is an effective exercise for targeting the latissimus dorsi and other muscles in the upper back. It enhances upper body strength and improves posture by engaging and strengthening the back and arm muscles.

How to do it

  1. Sit on the machine with feet flat and knees under the pads.
  2. Grip the V bar with both hands, palms facing each other.
  3. Pull the bar down towards your chest while keeping your back straight.
  4. Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the bottom of the movement.
  5. Slowly return the bar to the starting position with control.
