The Pendlay Row is a strength exercise that targets the upper back muscles by lifting a barbell from a dead stop on the ground. It emphasizes building strength and power in the back and improving posture.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and bend at the hips to grip the barbell.
  2. Keep your back flat and head neutral as you pull the barbell towards your chest.
  3. Lower the barbell back to the ground under control and reset before the next repetition.
