The straight leg deadlift using bottles as weights targets the lower back and hamstrings while engaging the glutes. It focuses on hip hinge movement, which strengthens the posterior chain and improves overall stability and posture.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart, holding a bottle in each hand.
  2. Keep your legs straight but not locked, hinge at the hips.
  3. Lower the bottles towards the ground, keeping your back straight.
  4. Engage your glutes and hamstrings to rise back to standing.
  5. Maintain control throughout, avoiding a rounded back.
