The barbell wrist curl is an exercise targeting the wrist flexors of the forearm. It helps in building strength and improving grip, which is essential for various other exercises and daily activities. This exercise is performed seated, allowing for better isolation of the wrist muscles.

How to do it

  1. Sit on a bench with feet flat on the ground, holding a barbell with an underhand grip.
  2. Rest your forearms on your thighs, allowing your wrists to hang slightly off the edge.
  3. Curl the barbell upwards by flexing your wrists, keeping forearms stationary.
  4. Slowly lower the barbell back to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining control throughout.
