Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The barbell wide squat is a lower body exercise that targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes. It improves lower body strength and stability while engaging the core for balance. This variation uses a wider stance, which emphasizes the inner thigh muscles.
How to do it
- Stand with feet wider than shoulder-width, toes slightly pointed out.
- Place a barbell across your upper back, gripping it firmly with both hands.
- Brace your core, keep chest up, and push hips back to lower into a squat.
- Descend until thighs are parallel to the ground, keeping knees over toes.
- Push through heels to return to starting position.
