The barbell wide grip upright row targets the shoulders and upper back. This exercise helps build muscle strength and definition in the upper body, particularly in the deltoid and trapezius muscles.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell with a wide grip.
  2. Keep your back straight and core engaged.
  3. Lift the barbell vertically along your body, keeping elbows higher than wrists.
  4. Pause briefly at the top when elbows reach shoulder height.
  5. Lower back down to starting position with control.
