The wide grip barbell bench press is a strength training exercise targeting the chest. By using a wider grip, it emphasizes the outer portion of the pectoral muscles, enhancing upper body strength and mass.

How to do it

  1. Lie down on a bench with feet flat on the floor.
  2. Grip the barbell wider than shoulder-width apart.
  3. Lower the barbell slowly to your chest.
  4. Press the barbell back up to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
