The barbell upright row targets the shoulders and upper back, enhancing shoulder and upper body strength. With a barbell held in front of the thighs, the exerciser lifts it towards the chin, engaging various muscles effectively.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding the barbell with an overhand grip.
- Keep the barbell close to the body and pull it upwards towards the chin.
- Keep elbows higher than wrists during the lift.
- Lower the barbell back to the starting position with control.
- Maintain a straight back and engage your core throughout.
