Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The standing military press is an effective shoulder exercise that primarily targets the deltoids and improves upper body strength. It also engages the core and stabilizing muscles, making it an excellent compound movement.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell at shoulder level with an overhand grip.
- Brace your core and ensure your elbows are slightly in front of the bar.
- Press the barbell overhead, fully extending your arms without locking your elbows.
- Lower the barbell back to shoulder level while maintaining a controlled motion.
