Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The standing close-grip barbell curl targets the biceps, emphasizing the brachialis and brachioradialis. This exercise is effective for building arm strength and size, as it involves lifting a barbell with a close grip, which shifts the focus primarily to the biceps brachii.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell with an underhand close grip.
- Keep elbows close to your sides and extend your arms fully.
- Curl the barbell upward toward your shoulders, squeezing the biceps.
- Pause briefly at the top, then slowly lower the barbell back to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps while maintaining control and posture.
