The barbell snatch is a dynamic, full-body exercise that improves power and coordination. It involves lifting a barbell from the ground to an overhead position in one fluid motion. This exercise builds explosive strength and enhances athletic performance.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, barbell over mid-foot.
  2. Grip the barbell with an overhand grip, arms outside legs.
  3. Lift the barbell, keeping it close to the body, and extend the hips.
  4. Pull the barbell overhead as you squat under it, then stand up.
  5. Control the barbell back to the starting position.
