The Seated Barbell Military Press is a compound exercise targeting the shoulders. It enhances upper body strength, focusing on developing shoulder muscles while also engaging stabilizers. This exercise is performed by pressing a barbell upwards while seated, providing excellent shoulder isolation and minimizing leg assistance.
How to do it
- Sit on a bench with back support inside a squat cage.
- Grip the barbell slightly wider than shoulder-width.
- Unrack the barbell, keeping elbows slightly in front of your body.
- Press the barbell overhead until arms are fully extended.
- Lower the bar back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
