The Seated Barbell Military Press is a compound exercise targeting the shoulders. It enhances upper body strength, focusing on developing shoulder muscles while also engaging stabilizers. This exercise is performed by pressing a barbell upwards while seated, providing excellent shoulder isolation and minimizing leg assistance.

How to do it

  1. Sit on a bench with back support inside a squat cage.
  2. Grip the barbell slightly wider than shoulder-width.
  3. Unrack the barbell, keeping elbows slightly in front of your body.
  4. Press the barbell overhead until arms are fully extended.
  5. Lower the bar back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
