The Barbell Power Clean from Blocks is a dynamic exercise that develops explosive power and strength, primarily targeting the lower body, shoulders, and upper back. It involves lifting a barbell from blocks to shoulder height in a single, fluid motion.

How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, barbell on blocks in front.
  2. Bend at the hips and knees, grasp the bar with an overhand grip.
  3. Explosively extend your hips and knees to lift the bar.
  4. Pull the bar up, shrugging and rotating elbows under, catching at shoulders.
  5. Stand tall, then lower the bar back onto the blocks.
