The Smith Machine Split Squat is a compound exercise targeting lower body strength and stability. How to do it

  1. Set the Smith Machine bar at shoulder height.
  2. Position yourself under the bar, placing it across your upper back.
  3. Step one foot forward so your feet are staggered.
  4. Lower your hips until the back knee nearly touches the ground.
  5. Press through the front heel to return to the starting position.
