The Barbell Pause Decline Bench Press targets the lower part of the chest by using a declined bench. Pausing at the bottom increases time under tension, enhancing muscle growth and strength development.

How to do it

  1. Lie on a decline bench and grip the barbell slightly wider than shoulder-width.
  2. Unrack the barbell and lower it slowly to your lower chest, pausing briefly.
  3. Press the barbell back up to the starting position, fully extending your arms.
