The barbell lying triceps extension, commonly known as the skull crusher, targets the triceps brachii. It involves lowering a barbell towards the forehead by flexing the elbows, then extending the arms to the starting position. This exercise is effective for building tricep strength and mass.
How to do it
- Lie on a bench holding a barbell with an overhand grip. Extend your arms straight above your chest.
- Lower the barbell by bending the elbows until it nears your forehead.
- Extend your elbows to return to the starting position, keeping control of the bar throughout.
