The barbell lying triceps extension, commonly known as the skull crusher, targets the triceps brachii. It involves lowering a barbell towards the forehead by flexing the elbows, then extending the arms to the starting position. This exercise is effective for building tricep strength and mass.

How to do it

  1. Lie on a bench holding a barbell with an overhand grip. Extend your arms straight above your chest.
  2. Lower the barbell by bending the elbows until it nears your forehead.
  3. Extend your elbows to return to the starting position, keeping control of the bar throughout.
