The barbell incline row is a compound exercise targeting the upper and middle back. Performed with a barbell on an inclined bench, it focuses on developing strength in the upper body, particularly the back. This exercise is effective for enhancing posture and increasing upper body mass.
How to do it
- Lie face down on an incline bench with your chest supported.
- Grip the barbell with both hands, arms fully extended beneath you.
- Pull the barbell towards your lower chest by retracting your shoulder blades.
- Pause briefly at the top, squeezing your back muscles.
- Lower the barbell slowly to the starting position.
