The cable wide-grip lat pulldown targets the muscles in the back, specifically engaging the latissimus dorsi. It is performed using a cable machine, which allows for a controlled downward pull motion, aiding in developing upper body strength and improving posture.
How to do it
- Sit on the seat of the cable machine and grasp the wide bar with an overhand grip.
- Position your hands wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Keep your chest up and pull the bar down to your upper chest, focusing on squeezing the shoulder blades together.
- Slowly return the bar to the starting position, maintaining control.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
