The barbell curl is a classic strength training exercise that targets the biceps brachii. It aids in developing arm strength and muscle mass. This exercise primarily focuses on isolating the biceps to enhance their peak and endurance.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell with an underhand grip.
- Keep elbows close to the torso and curl the barbell upwards by contracting the biceps.
- Pause at the top when the bar is near shoulder level and squeeze the biceps.
- Slowly lower the bar back to the starting position with control.
- Repeat for desired number of repetitions.
